From the recording The Roundup
This is my interpretation of Charles M Russell's paintings, Breaking Camp and Cowboy Camp During the Roundup (see my March 29, 2014 Blog). These were Charley's first oils on canvas. Charley included 25 of his friends that were there during the roundup. The beginning starts with the sound of cattle, cowboys whistling and having a good time. Charles and you, my audience, are having a sing along conversation. The cowboy camp is near Utica, Montana and Charley is working the roundup as a night hawk. I wrote this with a special roundup dance move. You dancers will have your version too. Again, I play all the instruments and sing all the voices. This is my gift to Charles on his 150th Birthday. Ho Ho Hi Eeeeee..
